The final group matches of the 2019 Copa games will take place on Thursday at Moi Stadium, Kisumu Boys at Kisumu Polytechnic grounds with teams keen on earning semi-finals slots.
A number of teams have already qualified for the semis that will take place on Friday. In Pool, A U20 boys, St. Anthony’s Boys and Olbolsat have already qualified for the semis. Shimba Hills and Banasa have since been eliminated from the competition.
In Pool B Dagoretti Boys have earned a semis slot after winning their opening two matches, Ebwali and Mbooni Boys will battle it out for the final semis slot on Thursday.
In the Girls’ Pool A category, Itigo booked a semis slot after beating Nyakach 1-0 on Wednesday, it was their second consecutive win having beaten Dagoretti mixed on day one. Dagoretti mixed mauled Karugwa 8-0 and will now play Nyakach on Thursday to determine who joins Itigo in the semis.
In pool B, Arch Bishop Njenga from the Western region made it two wins out of two after defeating Coast Region’s St. John’s Kaloleni and have now booked a semis slot. Gesero and Njabini will fight for the final semis slot.
In the Copa U16, Serani qualified for semis after beating Koyonzo by a solitary goal. It was their second win after opening day win over Goseta. Koyonzo, Gatimaiyu, and Goseta will fight for the final semis slot in pool A.
In Pool B, Boystown and Dagoretti Boys qualified for the semis after getting their second wins on Wednesday. Boystown defeated Machakos Boys while Dagoretti saw off Agoro Sare.
In the Girls’ category, Wiyeta Girls from Rift Valley defeated Njabini to book a semi-final slot, Ugari, Njabini, and Dagoretti mixed will fight for the remaining slot on Thursday.
In Pool B Kobala and Maeni are through to the semis after defeating Waa and Itaara respectively on Thursday. The wins were their second after opening day wins.
