Kenyans have known her for years, ever since she campaigned in 2017 and won the elections. She always had an opinion, and a desire to find a solution for the people of Bomet.

Laboso’s death has come as the country struggles through troubled times with high debt and corruption in government agencies and the private sector, but for her, it was about serving the people.

Here is a look at four projects that she launched before she left the country to seek medical attention until her demise at the Nairobi hospital.

1.Constructing and maintaining 335 kilometres of roads

2. Improving access to public information for accountability and performance monitoring

3.Construction of Kapkemo Vocational Training Centre at Kipsegon

4.Construction of court facilities in the County

With support for Kenya’s tainted politicians at an all-time low, Laboso’s triumphant win of the governor’s seat in 2017 presented a rare glimmer of hope for a county in urgent need of political renewal especially for women in leadership.

May she rest in peace.
