Documents filed by US Government against the International narcotics traffickers Baktash and Ibrahim Akasha brothers reveal the gory and ugly life of the drug lords which according to some Kenyans, their confession would only be equated to a good story for a movie.
The Kenyan brothers both pleaded guilty in October to several violations of US drug laws, including a conspiracy to smuggle 99 kilograms of heroin and two kilos of methamphetamine into the United States.
The two could be handed sentences of life imprisonment in separate court sessions post[poned to August 16 & November 8.
In the confession, the Akashas also admitted to obstructing justice by systematically bribing Kenyan police officers, judges and a prosecutor in an attempt to prevent their extradition to the US.
A 31-paged document, the court’s submissions, submitted before US District Court Judge Victor Morrero as well reveals that Baktash was in the deep of violence, something which he passed to his family.
According to the court document by US attorney Geoffrey Berman, Baktash’s violent life to other drug traffickers haunted his own family. He turned his wrath to his own blood and love.
“Baktash’s violent episodes were not limited to his attacks on other drug traffickers. He was regularly violent towards his family as well,” the document says.
Amazed by the events revealed during the prosecution of the two Mombasa tycoons, Kenyans took to social media to express their views. See what they had to say;

It will be interesting to see what the court will decide to do with the #AkashaBrothers
The UNSG can be charged with corruption after he leaves office. Its not impossible. He won’t be the first in this situation.
