There has been a serious concerns that the fight against corruption in Kenya only targets small fish, and when the big fish are arrested, there is hardly any convictions as a majority of such cases are thrown out for lack of enough evidence.
The release of Treasury CS Henry Rotich and his PS Kamau Thugge on Wednesday has caused a huge uproar on social media with Kenyans accusing the Judiciary of not exercising fairness while handling corruption cases.
On Tuesday the CS was arraigned in court where he denied all the 16 counts read to him. He was later released on a sh15 million cash bail.
Using the hashtag #MkishikaTunawachilia Kenyans have bashed the Judiciary for collaborating with the corruption cases as it is little or no conviction has yet been taken on them while posting screenshots of corruption suspects released on bail and yet to be convicted.
