So Henry Rotich was born and raised in Kimwarer. It is ironical that the scandal that is about to bring him down is from his own backyard. Rotich was born in 1969 in Kimwarer area Keiyo South, Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
Rotich went to Fluorspar Primary School in Keiyo South District, Elgeyo-Marakwet then joined Saint Joseph’s High School for his secondary school studies before joining the University of Nairobi in 1989 for a Bachelors Degree in Economics and graduated with a First Class Honors.
But how did one of the most educated sons of Marakwet be at the centre of a scam that denied his own people a livelihood? That is the question on everyone’s lips.
#RotichError.Rotich comes from Kinwarer village and he loots from the very poor village he came from.He looted funds meant for a dam that would provide water to his own people. Is such a person not a witch?he should be jailed for life if possible

Kenyans used the hashtag #RotichErorr to show their displeasure at how the CS had messed up his community. This happened even as Rotich and his co-accused were arraigned in court to answer to corruption charges.
Until I see people jailed and stolen money and property recovered, am not going to celebrate or praise anybody. What if they buy justice with all the monies they have? We know justice can be bought in this country. #RotichError

We finally have a comprehensive list of suspected thieves who looted from dams that could have benefited the poor of Marakwet. From the list of suspected thieves who looted Kimwarer and Arror dams, it is now sufficient to conclude that Kalenjin looted from their own Kalenjin. pic.twitter.com/8TMwyfBezC

Kenyans are also not happy with a section of Rift Valley Politicians who have defended the CS. On Monday, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said that all the charges are false.
“I have looked at the charge sheets and I can tell you the entire thing is a charade,” Murkomen told journalists.
Some Kenyan politicians are GREEDY, before Henry Rotich was broached, Murkomen and Sudi were on the verge of daring DPP to do the arrests and to STOP ‘targeting fiongosi wa bonde la ufa’ . RIGHT now KM is running up and down like a roller coaster. Let it be MESSY. #RotichError

However, a few who came in Rotich’s defense, claim that Haji’s fight against corruption is one-sided, politically affiliated and only targeting the one community, that is, as the majority of those implicated belong to the community.
Dear Kalenjins,
It appears to be a war on the Kalenjin community because: first- the jobs were given to the tribesmen. okay, but for how long will Ruto’s greed mess up careers of these young Kalenjin professionals. Sad. pic.twitter.com/9EMzxRpGd2— Mason OVO (@masonOVO1) July 23, 2019
Why is it that only the Kalenjins that are being arrested or lather people near Ruto Ruto’s camp. Are you fighting a Ruto or you are fighting corruption? Stop fooling us corruption is never fought this way. This is stupid #ArrorandKimwarer Diane Murkomen
