Sirisia MP John Waluke has offered a public apology to ODM leader Raila Odinga, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju and the entire Luo Community.
Waluke stated he did not intend to castigate the Luo community and that “it was the slip of the tongue.” The Tangatanga MP has however claimed that he is not afraid of arrest but he is making the apology to make peace with the Luo Community and the public at large.
Waluke also revealed that he is the acting Deputy Chairperson of Jubilee Party. He took the position after the Former Acting Deputy Chairperson David Murathe stepped aside. He said that he was apologizing to make peace with his boss Raphael Tuju.
To clear the animosity between him and Tuju, Waluke has stated that he is willing to call Tuju book an appointment then apologize. He vowed never to repeat the utterances.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission had indicated its plans to take action against Waluke over an ethnic slur against Tuju.
The outspoken lawmaker accused Tuju of bringing conflict in the ruling party “the way people from his community like to do”.
“I want to warn Tuju that I will deal with him. We will kick him out of the party and ask him to go home to stay with people from his community, who are known for starting problems for this country,” he said.
