#RutoTheLiar: Angry Kenyans Bash Ruto For Lying During K24 Interview

Deputy President William Ruto on Monday found himself on the wrong side with Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) concerning the interview he had on Sunday  K24.

The hashtag #RutoTheLiar  was trending for the better part of Monday morning with Kenyans bashing the second in command for lying during the interview while at the same time escaping from questions of public interest.

A section of Kenyans now claims that Anne Kiguta lacked the finesse of an experienced TV anchor dealing with a hostile guest and that she was lenient with him on alledges that the DP owns shares from the media house.

One instance was when Anne asked Ruto about the assassination claims the Deputy President had raised with the Director of Criminal Investigations.

Anne Kiguta: Do you believe there are forces planning to kill you?

Ruto: Is this your first time to come to Karen? Do you have children?

The TV anchor also asked the DP about his net worth.

Anne Kiguta: Are you willing to declare your wealth?

Ruto: Have I told you I am not willing to declare my wealth

When grilled about the promises he made during the campaigns, Ruto admitted that the Jubilee government has not been able to fulfil its 6 stadia promised in 2017 but instead it will have 11 by 2020

Seven years later and almost one and half years into their second term, not even a groundbreaking ceremony has been done for any of these stadiums. Will this happen in the few remaining years?

“We couldn’t achieve the 6 stadia in 2017 but we will finish all 11 by the 1st quarter of next year. ”

KOT went on to question the DP on running to the defensive after the government’s involvement in corruption issue was raised. While commenting on Jubilee’s involvement in corruption, the DP rubbished claims that up to a third of the Kenyan budget was getting wasted in corruption.

Kenyans went on bashing the DP for lying about jobs creation for the youths.

Other Kenyans on social media had this to say about the interview;
