With no doubt Dr William Ruto is liked and hated in equal measures. The son of a peasant who was named the ‘Tangatanga Army General’ by President Uhuru Kenyatta has a new name.
The man of God Ruto was given the title following his ingrained tendency and appetite of making rounds all over Kenya and dishing out cash to churches.
But Professor Makau Mutua has given him a new name “Mangamanga.'” The Dean of the school of law in The University of Buffalo,New York in the USA, has said the name ‘Mangamanga best fits Ruto.”
Speaking to JKL on Citizen TV, Prof Makau Mutua has stated that Ruto is best compared to that pauper on the street who walks bare footed and is starving for some coins.
The Professor has argued that Ruto has put Tangatanga lawmakers on a payroll that is why they are busy singing his symphony all over.
He has also claimed that Ruto is trying to create a circumstance to force President Uhuru Kenyatta to endorse him.
“I think he (Ruto) is trying to create a circumstance in which he forces Mr. Kenyatta to openly endorse him for the seat…” he claimed.

Naming the Titans in Kenyan Politics, Makau Mutua has stated that Ruto comes Third after Uhuru and Raila Odinga who define the political atmosphere.
“…there are two titans of Kenyan politics at the moment, there is Mr. Kenyatta on one hand and there is Mr. Odinga… Mr. Ruto is a third wheel in this relationship…” he insisted.

The outspoken Lawyer has also stated that Jubilee formation is dead and President Uhuru Kenyatta does not intend to forge ahead with that relationship. He has claimed that Jubilee was formed after the atrocities which befall the country of election violence and Uhuru does not intend to reciprocate by backing Ruto’s Presidency.
