The Rift Valley Region is not ready to have two candidates in the 2022 Presidential election.
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi was openly endorsed by Tiaty MP William Kamket some few days ago. Kamket stated that Kanu will flag a him to battle with Ruto.
However Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has hit back at Kamket stating that the Rift Valley Region cannot have two kingpins. This is according to Kalenjin Community who have a strong belief that one cannot have two bulls in just homestead.
“But we know that we got a tedious task ahead of us. We know by the end of the day two bulls cannot exist in one shed,” Murkomen said.
In the fund raising event that was held in Eldama Ravine which was also attended by the Deputy President William Ruto, Kipchumba also shamed Senator Gideon Moi stating that he was holding brief for the “absentee” Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who “is busy relaxing in Nairobi”.
The region unlike other years is not reading from the same script. Outspoken lawmakers like Cheragany MP Joshua Kutuny have always expressed their dissatisfaction with Ruto style of leadership. Kutuny who is a member of kieleweke has always accused Ruto of undermining Jubilee’s administration.
However Dr William Ruto has also addressed his greatest fear by facing President Uhuru Kenyatta. Just a few days ago ANC Secretary General revealed that Ruto’s attacks to Raila are meant for Uhuru. He is using Raila as an easy punch bag.
But Ruto has alluded to the Bible telling off Uhuru about the 2022 succession politics.
“You plan for today and the future … And that is why when we go for these public rallies, they [MPs] say we are in Jubilee and organised for tomorrow. Is there a problem with that?” Ruto asked amid cheers.
He further asked: “Do you know the date of going to heaven? But you have faith that we are going to heaven? So with this 2022 which we know the date, the week and the month, is there a problem when we plan?”
Supporting Senator Murkomen, Dr Ruto told the Kalenjin community to prepare themselves for his presidency.
“No one should ever threaten or mislead you. Instead, we should unite so we can take over the leadership of this country.”
