Pro-Ruto ally slams Uhuru for disregarding the Senate mandate

The fallout between The Senators and The Members of the National Assembly is just being extended by President.

The two National Houses have been brushing shoulders for quite sometime now. The Supremacy battle jetting in with MPs enjoying favours from The Head of State.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has slammed Uhuru for disregarding the senate mandate while signing into law the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill, 2019 and the Insurance (Amendment) Bill of 2018.

The Senate Majority Leader Murkomen has accused the President advisory team of ill-advising the him. Murkomen has stated that the two laws are unconstitutional.

“It’s unfortunate that State Law Office&SH advisors have failed in their duty to ensure that laws signed by our boss are Constitutional. These two Bills are Unconstitutional for want of involvement by Senate as per Art.110 of the Constitution.I am going on record for posterity,” Murkomen stated.

It is not the first time the Pro-Ruto ally is accusing the President of over-stepping on the constitution.

The National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale was once involved in a bitter exchange with Kipchumba Murkomen over the same.

The exclusion of the Senate by the National Assembly has been brewing for quite sometime with some MPs pushing for the scrapping of Senate position through referendum.

The position of the Majority leaders from both sides being targeted in the new move which escalates the supremacy battle.

However The Senate legal team has moved to court to challenge the Bills which have been signed by President Uhuru kenyatta without their involvement.
