Kenyans from across political divides have come together to congratulate Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka over his new appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta as  Kenya’s Special Envoy to South Sudan.

Kalonzo’s appointment to the post came just a few hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta held bilateral talks with his visiting guest President Salva Kiir of South Sudan at State House on Monday.

According to the Ministry of Defence, Kalonzo’s appointment was in line with Kenya’s commitment towards sharing the national cake across all the region’s in Kenya. His appointment was also seen as an enhancement on Kalonzo’s peace role in South Sudan offered to him by the president last year.

While the Wiper boss is expected to steer the country’s pursuit of lasting peace and security in South Sudan through the acceleration of the implementation of the Revitalized-Agreement on Conflict Resolution in South Sudan (R-AGROSS), a section of Kenyans are already excited about his new role with others flocking social media sites to insinuate what President Uhuru was indirectly implying through Kalonzo’s appointment.

Some had the view that the President was indirectly endorsing the Wiper Boss for the 2022 take over owing to the fact that Uhuru had earlier promised Kenyans that his 2022 choice will shock many.

Other’s congratulated Kalonzo terming his appointment as a clear proof of trust the President and people of South Sudan had for the soft-spoken leader who has been struggling to maintain his place as the Ukambani kingpin

“H. E Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has been serving as IGAD special peace envoy. He has what it takes’ observed @benmutiso.

Others took the opportunity to sarcastically congratulate Kalonzo terming him a ‘fellow youth’ whose youthful leadership skills had pleased the President prompting him to appoint Kalonzo on behalf of other jobless youths in the country.

“A man who stands for nothing will always fall for anything. His desperation made him literally beg for a job from the head of state to the point of declaring his intentions of being a spanner boy. He lacks temerity, resilience and tenacity. A political weakling.” Tweeted @Tijey5

Facebook users were also not left out as they expressed their views on Kalonzo’s appointment to the post. Here are some of the reactions;
