After narrowly surviving relegation during the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League season, Posta Rangers has moved to beef up its playing unit in readiness for the new campaign that kicks off in August.

The Mail-men managed to retain their top flight status after defeating Nairobi Stima 3-2 on aggregate in a closely fought two-legged playoff after they finished in position 16 in the Kenyan Premier League.

The team has wasted no time in beefing up its ranks. It has acquired the services of Nzoia Sugar FC central midfielder Jackson Dwang. The Mathare United youth team prodigy joined the Sugar Millers at the start of 2018/19 season and after impressing at the Bungoma based side where he score six league goals, the Mail-men have moved with speed to acquire his services.

The John Kamau coached side has also signed another midfielder in Cain Okeyo who decamps to the side from Wazito FC. The defensive midfielder who previously played for Sony Sugar and Nairobi Stima moves to the Mail-Men after a one season with Wazito FC.

Former Thika United midfielder Michael Luvutsi has also moved to the club from Bandari. A defensive midfielder by trade, Luvutsi is expected to compete with Okeyo for a starting berth in the team. Completing the new signings list is Bidco United central defender Dickens Mwema. The tall defender is known for his prowess from set-pieces. A former Ushuru FC and Bidco United man, Mwema is excepted to beef up John Kamau’s rearguard.

“I can confirm that we have signed the above four players. As you can see they are all relatively young, there’s an age-group we are targeting to beef up the team with. We want players who have room for further growth. We are in negotiations with a few more targets who we intend to bring on board, we will have a very strong squad next season,”Posta Rangers chairman John Tonui told Opera News.
