How Bob Collymore Supported The Entertainment Industry In Kenya

Early Monday Morning ,the beginning of the month and Kenyans are woken up with the worst news,Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore is no more.

He had been suffering from Leukemia and died at the age of 61.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing away of Robert William Collymore CEO of Safaricom PLC which occurred at his home in the morning of 1st July 2019,” read the statement from Safaricom.

The Safaricom Boss has been Instrumentally looking for talent in all quarters including entertainment.The industry .

He had greatly been involved in shaping the entertainment industry.He was actively involved in the Safaricom Jazz Festival,sponsored Groove awards and many more local entertainment events.

He was often invited to the Churchill show and as we ushered the new year of 2019,He surprised Kenyans when he started dancing at a show.He had been invited to speak at the new years eve edition of the popular comedy program Churchill Show when he decided to let loose.

 

He tried performing a dancing style commonly known as ‘Odi’ and left the attendees in stitches.

He was loved by Kenyans on how easy he was when asked to entertain.He did it without fail.

He had also been seen enjoying new dance moves like ”The ting goes sssskkkkraaaaaaa”That was popular in the late 2017.
