The late Bob Collymore was not only a hard-working and result-driven CEO. He was also very fond of naturing talents and supporting Upcoming Kenyan Celebrities. A number of Kenyan comedians and artists landed high paying deals in Safaricom since 2014.
Among the Kenyan celebrities who have benefited, from Safaricom deals are top gospel artiste Kelvin Bahati popularly known by his stage name Bahati Kenya, Mogaka, Comedian Njugush, Jemutai and many others.

In July 2015, Bahati had every reason to smile after company Safaricom appointed him as its Facebook Brand Ambassador.
Since then, Bahati has worked with Safaricom on various deals and he had established a close relationship with the Safaricom CEO, the late Bob Collymore, who met his untimely death on 1st July 2019.
Many celebrities took to social media and send messages of condolence to the family of the deceased. They also praised him for the good work he did for the time he worked in Safaricom.
While many celebrities just mourned Bob Collymore whose body will be laid to rest on 2nd July, Bahati Kenya had something else to add.
He suggests that 1st July should be named after the late Bob Collymore so that we have Bob Collymore Day every year on 1 st July
Taking to social media Bahati Kenya shared two posts, one mourning the late Collymore and the other one suggesting on Ist July being named after Bob.
From Bahati’s post, it is clear that he had a close relationship with his boss Bob Collymore.
