Adios! Pamzo exits KCB, Korea loading?

Kenya Premier League side, KCB has parted ways with assistant coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo.

Omollo, a former Tusker FC, Sony Sugar and Posta Rangers joined KCB in January as Frank Ouna’s assistant and helped stabilize the Bankers who were struggling in the league.

Coach Ouna left the club after the conclusion of 2018/19 season and was replaced by Gor Mahia assistant coach Zedekiah Otieno. Since Otieno arrived, Omollo’s future has been a subject of speculation with many observing that he will depart as well.

The former Kenyan international has finally left the club after the Bankers decided against keeping him.

“Omollo has left the club. We thought that it’s best if we let the coach choose his own assistant coach for the sake of harmony in our technical bench. He will guide us accordingly,” an official of the club told Opera News.

Meanwhile Opera News understands that immediate former Kariobangi Sharks assistant coach Collins Omondi is favorite to take over the position after requesting to leave Sharks a few days ago.

Last week the club announced that it had parted ways with their Omondi who joined the club from Sony Sugar last year on mutual consent.

A source has now disclosed that Korea as he’s famously referred to could be KCB bound where he’ll link up with coach Zedekiah Otieno. The pair worked together when Otieno was the head coach at Sony Sugar.

“He’s one of the candidates being considered for the job. He’s actually among the favorites for the job. Once the team resumes training, everything will be clear,” the source disclosed.
