Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa’s calls for an equal prosecution of both the boys and the impregnated girls involved in early teenage pregnancies have been received with a lot of positivity from a section of male online users who have praised the decision terming it right and just.

According to the vocal Legislator, the male child has for a long time been the victim of the pregnancy crime observing that the act was perfected by the two parties hence the need to prosecute both the boy and the girl involved.

While speaking at a function in the coastal region on Friday, Aisha pregnant girls to be arrested and jailed with their unborn children to avoid discriminating against boys in the teenage pregnancy menace.

“Early pregnancies are considered unwanted because they are not needed. The only problem is that after the pregnancy, it is only the boy child who is prosecuted at the expense of the other. I want to categorically state that the law cuts across. As the girl, you should also be held accountable because of you accepted” she said amid cheers from the group.

Aisha noted that by prosecuting the two, it will bring to an end the current problem being witnessed involving teenage pregnancies. Aisha Jumwa’s remarks were however met with great positivity from a section of Facebook users who hailed the legislator for coming to the aid of the embattled boy child.

According to them who are mostly men, the act results from a mutual agreement between the two hence the law should not discriminate against boys alone leaving behind their aiders the girls.

Here are some of the reactions from Facebook:

Idrisharun Justman This lady is strong and clever. She speaks with wisdom.
Tsar Paul Evance Ptho this is shy of relief to boy child !!!
Nana Mhesh Mheshimiwa this one i support 100 percent
Wafula Wa Nyongesa Makes sense! But you can’t jail a teenager for being pregnant. Both of them need counselling, not prison. Keep policemen far away from reproductive and sexual matters unless it is rape.
Sam Mcroa Son That is good mhesh. This discrimination should come to an end
Nicholas Juma Wanyama True!…both boys and girls should be equally punished. Why should the law favour one side only. It is when a man or boy of a maturer age than the girl committing such then it may apply to favour the girl . The young boy and girl of almost equal age meet and commit a crime against the law, it should affect them both. If you study the anatomy of man would even sympathise with the boy child. Male’s feeling are external and externally expressed easily. Female’s feelings are internal and can be controlled unless triggered with an external touch. Let this feminine agenda from West mistreat not our boy child.

Aisha’s remarks were however rubbished by a section of users who opined that cure was better than the treatment saying that protecting the two was not a lasting solution.

Wyclef Wikilicks This unmeasured thought unfortunately confirms the inadequate reasoning from this woman legislator

Caleb Aaron This is a classical example of manure thinking, education is a must ingredient in our system.

Kenneth Kamau Thus not a solution they are better ways to solve such problems like offering guidance to our kids, teaching them the dangers of involving themselves in early sexual inter courses
Jenny Merie Will the 4 walls of a cell give these teens a lesson? Parents we should wake up and talk openly with our teens, let them know the risks/results of these early sexy and Co. And not to wait to punish them after it occurs… Prevention is better than the cure
