Belgium based midfielder Johanna Omolo then restored parity for Kenya before Olunga sealed the come back with a late winner. Stars players will now walk home with KSH. 250,000 each in addition to the KSH. 750,000 they got before they left for Egypt.

“We are glad we received the money from the government for the tournament and we have come up with a way to reward our players. Any player who will make it to the final squad will get Sh750,000 while the three who will be axed from the camp in Paris will get Sh250,000. We have also come up with the winning bonus for each group stage match and knockouts. The players will have to pen contracts which are being prepared,” FKF President Nick Mwendwa said before the team departed for France for Pre-AFCON preparations.

Kenya began its AFCON campaign by going down 2-0 to Algeria. They will be looking to get a round of 16 berth when they play Senegal on Monday by at least getting a draw from the match.
