I’d rather watch a tree grow than Watch Murkomen Speak, Says Ruto’s close ally

On Wednesday evening,  Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen took to citizen tv’ Jklive show to discuss matters concerning the country just a day after his boss Dr. William Ruto claimed that there were assassination plans by some leaders inside Jubilee party.

In the show, Murkomen pinned PS Kibicho of being behind the La mada meeting which was purported to be a meeting attended by the four cabinet secretaries from Mt. Kenya region in the in order to plan how to kill The Deputy President William Ruto.

Even as Murkomen explained to the country how Interior Permanent Secretary Kibicho Karanja took part in the murder of the former Vice President George Saitoti, and was trying to do the same on Ruto, one man who is also Deputy President William Ruto’s close ally was busy castigating the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator.

Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut caused a stir online when he said that he would rather watch a tree grow than watching the vocal Senator speak live on TV.

Chepkut who was elected on an independent ticket in Uasin Gishu county after defeating the then legal constitution and home affairs chairman Samuel Chepkonga has been a close ally of Jubilee party and in particular Deputy President William Ruto.

Chepkut’s sentiments on Murkomen came at a time when many in Ruto’s backyard are disassociating themselves from the first term legislator saying he had betrayed his constituents by working closely with William Ruto’s enemies.

According to reports, the Ainabkoi MP started expressing his displeasure towards Ruto’s allies in the region after businessman Buzeki dumped the party for CCM citing frustrations and dictatorship from a section of Ruto’s allies including Kipchumba Murkomen.

A week ago, the controversial Ainabkoi MP was also on the spot after he blasted Ruto’s allies for inciting too much effort in defending their boss against Uhuru’s Kasarani remarks where he warned against early politicking.

Chepkut was a Permanent Secretary to the former powerful Minister Nicholas Biwott and his association with the Kanu regime is what many are terming as the cause of his disrespect towards William Ruto’s camp.

He has been quoted severally supporting Uasin Gishu’s mogul Buzeki saying that Bundotich who defected from William Ruto’s camp didn’t need the support of Jubilee party in order to win the county’s governorship post in 2022.

Chepkut’s remarks on Murkomen on Wednesday evening were however met with mixed reactions from a section of online users who castigated Chepkut of ‘innocence’ and going against their leaders. Here are some of the reactions from Twitter;
