Khalwale ‘links’ Raila to Harambee Stars defeat, gets fire in return

Kenyan football fans were left disappointed Sunday evening after Harambee Stars were beaten 2-0 by Algeria in their African Cup of Nation opening match in Cairo.

Just like many of the dismayed fans, former Kakamega Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale sort solace in a bare-knuckle tweet that seemed to take a swipe at opposition chief Raila Odinga, but it landed him in a beehive – literally.

Kenyans, however, failed to stand with him on this and instead criticized him for insinuating politics in the whole matter. It is clear that Khalwale and Raila have not been drinking from the same cup lately due to their political difference.

We all know that the real target of your outburst is the man who is not in uniform… Boni, you are so petty these days. What happened to the Bull fighter I used to admire? It’s really hard reconciling the pictures of you in my memory and the live picture of you here…

Raila is sometimes a winner, you are so negative.. he was in Egypt to support the team

Nonetheless, Harambee Stars have received a lot of support from many Kenyans including the President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto who even sent encouraging messages before their match with Algeria.

Not to forget, the former Premier Raila Odinga and Devolution CS also paid the Kenyan team a visit in Cairo, the venue of the 2019 AFCON tournament.

Harambee Stars were frankly grouped with tough teams in group C and the loss is a huge drawback as they will have to win all the remaining matches to book a place in the next round.
