The Hip Hop crew consisting of  Frasha, Gabu, and Bon-eye, are now barring KCB from capitalizing on the hype which was associated with their ‘weka weka’ phrase to sell out their new brand to the potential customers.

According to the laws enshrined in the right to consent, P Unit have claimed to be the legal owners of the ‘Weka weka’ phrase.

KCB however settled on the ‘weka weka’ phrase because it easily lures the customers to bank on the newly launched campaign aimed at improving the saving culture in the country.

‘Weka’ is a swahili word which simply means to ‘put.’

Frasha, one of the group member is the one who propounded the phrase. Frasha was supposed to deposit some cash to his fellow group member Gabu. So Gabu kept calling Frasha asking ‘Umeweka.’ The calls continued with Gabu each and every time c asking “umeweka weka.”

That gave rise to the hit song which stormed the streets in the year 2014. The song was one of the tracks in their second album named ‘Wagenge hao tena.’

Now KCB are set to suffer a blow if P Unit wins in claiming  the ownership of the phrase, unless they come in terms with the group.
