Details: How Uhuru almost built a wall to protect Central Kenya after 2007/2008 election violence

From Ballots to Bullets,that is  what engulfed Kenya following the controversial presidential election of December 27, 2007.

Two months of bloodshed left over 1,000 dead and up to 500,000 internally displaced persons in a country viewed as a bastion of economic and political stability in a volatile region.

Hon Raila Odinga conflicted the results which was announced in favour of President Mwai Kibaki.

The ethnic divisions laid bare in the aftermath of the elections. This created fear that President Uhuru Kenyatta almost built a wall to protect the people in Central Kenya.

The Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has revealed these fresh details which have been hidden for over year 10 years.

Speaking to a local TV station, Kuria has stated that he accompanied President Uhuru  to a place called Rurigi and they were contemplating on building a wall like that of Mexico to protect the Kikuyus in the area.

“At one time we went to a place called Rurigi in Bantu Forest,and we were contemplating on building a wall, you know like Mexican wall,to protect the Kikuyus there.”

However, Kuria has since stated that Uhuru saw that building walls and police posts won’t protect the people but only long lasting peace.

He has since said that Uhuru’s version of the Handshake Gospel is genuine. He reiterated that , Uhuru saw what happened in 2007/2008 and to find a lasting solution he chose peace with Raila Odinga in order to heal the nation.
