The Church Altar in recent times has been turned by most politicians into a political battle field. Most church leaders being blamed of sanitizing the proceeds of corruption.

But Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has secluded himself from the political leaders who don’t honor the Altar.

Mike Mbuvi Sonko has boldly stated that he does not have that ingrained tendency of politicking in church.

Moreover, Governor Sonko has revealed that he pays deep respect to the Lord that he cannot at any point allow himself to be disrespectful by advancing his political interests in the pulpit.

“Mimi naheshimu Mungu Sana, Sipendi Kuongea siasa ndani ya kanisa kwa sababu Kanisa ni mahali pa Kumtukuza na Kumsifu Mungu,” Mike Sonko stated(Translation; I Honor the Lord so much,I don’t like politicking in Church because the Church is a place of worshipping and Praising the Lord).

Sonko spoke while attending service of the late Ruth Wanjiru Kamau, at PCEA Icaciri Church in Gatundu, Kiambu County.Mama Wanjiru is mother to Nairobi City County Government Director of Public Communications Lydia Gatheru.

Mike Sonko has also cashed out ksh.400,000 to the Guild of Kiambu County.

Mike Sonko sentiments come just a day after the Anglican Church of Kenya banned all Harambees stating that they will only accept offerings.

Church politicking has been one of the greatest point for Team Tangatanga lead by The Deputy President William.

This is a blow to DP Ruto who has always defended this act, of giving to the church stating that it is an act of thanksgiving to the Lord.
