Posta Rangers, Nairobi Stima to Know their fate next week Wednesday as play-off schedule released

The path that leads to Kenya Premier League promotion is not a walk in the park as teams have to face a grueling tussle for a whole season only for two teams to get automatic promotion. The third team always go for another test dubbed as playoffs to know their fate.

The playoff is usually between the third club in the National Super League and the third last in the Kenya Premier League. For this case, this season’s playoff will be between Posta Rangers and Nairobi Stima.

The schedule for the playoff has been released by the Football Kenya Federation and the two clubs will know their fate by Wednesday next week.

The first leg of the play-off will be played on Saturday 15th June 2019 at Karuturi Grounds in Naivasha where Nairobi Stima will be the hosts of the grueling match.

The return leg, however, will be held on Wednesday next week on 19th June 2019 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos where Posta Rangers will be the hosts.

Posta Rangers finished in the 16th position in the Kenya Premier League after failing to win their last match against Tusker FC to surpass Zoo Kericho who are just one point ahead of them though with a lesser goal difference.

Nairobi Stima, on the other side, finished third in a very competitive National Super League where the winners had to be decided after the last match. Wazito FC and Kisumu All-Stars were too aggressive and clinched the first and second position respectively, securing a direct promotion.

After tasting the benefits of playing in the KPL, will Posta Rangers accept to go down? In fact, it will be an enthralling match since Nairobi Stima will also be looking forward to making a debut in Kenya’s elite tournament.
