Kenya Premier League giants Gor Mahia have admittedly dominated the league since it began in 1963. K’Ogalo have won the league eighteen times with their closest follower AFC Leopards winning it thirteen times. But this could be history after the entry of Kisumu All Stars in the Main League.
The Green Army penned down history once again this season after winning the title for the third consecutive time and most importantly, being the first club in Kenya to win the three-peat for the third time.
First three-peat was in 1983, 1984 and 1985, second was in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and finally the third in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Why all these could be history beginning next season.
Gor supporters have played a crucial role in the club’s success. This is undoubted, right?
A team produces a good performance with good players but it does better with the morale and support to the good players. Gor fans have done all they could to stand with their club; in good and in bad; both moral and financial support.
However, fears of the downfall of K’Ogalo have now crept in after the emergence of Kisumu All Stars to the Kenya Premier League.
Why?
Hi big brother @FCGorMahia the fans at #KisumuAllStars TV loading ..have spoken 😎 pic.twitter.com/kzwwY4MhaB

Gor fans were spotted celebrating during Kisumu All Stars’ victory against Thika United on Sunday, a win that saw All Stars secure promotion to the KPL together with Wazito FC.
What I don't understand is why K'Ogalo fans seem to be behind #KisumuAllStars this much when the likes of Sony, Chemelil – and even Muhoroni Youth before – never received such support.

Fans expressed their worry and some even insinuated that this is the beginning of Gor dilution.
Kenya we resonate well with community iniciatives because of the harmbeee theme. Co-operate teams are run by individual and they do not work om their pr to bring fans, these is because they fear being questioned

Oh the derby is gonna be lit.

Surprisingly, some even compared this coming situation with what happened for AFC Leopards when teams Kakamega Homeboyz coming from the region shared their support and completely diluted them.
The beginning of Gor dilution, ask chingwe how things went when there was a second and a third and a fourth… and still counting.. team from its region

There is a clear indication that both teams will share fans and, of course, one cannot serve two masters. Fans will either side for Gor Mahia or Kisumu All Stars depending on which team is doing well. Just like it happened for AFC Leopards.
Do you also believe that Kisumu All Stars will bring Gor Mahia down?
