Kileweke MP Mocks Kikuyu Elders Over Remarks on Ruto’s 2022 Region Support

The Kikuyu Council of Elders have been grappling to find a perfect fit to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta whose term is coming to an end.

The elders have reiterated they do not owe Deputy President William Ruto any political debt regarding his ambition to the State House come 2022.

They claimed;

“The Kikuyu vote will not be brokered for money by ‘tukunias’” 

“No one carries a vote for another so those ‘promising’ others the votes of the region, we know you; and you aren’t the first ‘tukunias’ in the history of the Kikuyu people,” The Council of Elders stated.

Led by the council Secretary General Peter Munga, the elders also accused Ruto of heightened premature campaigns thus disrespecting his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.

They were addressing a gathering in Kabiru-ini, Nyeri county on Friday, Munga pointed accusing fingers at members of two Jubilee factions namely Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke whom he said were acted against Uhuru’s directive on early campaigns.

Now the Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu who is a Kieleweke frontier has mocked the elders’ sentiments claiming that the same Kikuyu elders who brought Ruto into the fold in 2013 are the same who are telling him to stop disrespecting the president.

Posting on his Facebook account the vocal MP claimed that Ruto’s ‘tukunia’s’ in Mt Kenya that are busy accusing these same elders of being ‘fake’.

Ngunjiri has been on the forefront in opposing DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions.He has been maintaining that  Ruto is not assured of Central Kenya support.
