Tanga Tanga MP Challenges Raila to Bring Back Miguna

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has challenged ODM leader Raila Odinga to use the handshake and bring Miguna Miguna back to the country.

Barasa, one of the key followers of DP William Ruto, has challenged Raila to use his influence and bring Miguna who was deported to Canada last year after committing what the government termed as treason.

He further added saying Raila should act as what he says and support the handshake.

Miguna was controversially deported to Canada after swearing in Raila as the People’s President in January 2018. This is despite several court orders barring the government from deporting him.

He later filed a for a petition at the high court to have the government allow him back into the country after which the High Court awarded him Sh7 million as compensation for the violation of his rights during his deportation to Canada. Last week, during an interview with Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinage, Miguna stated that the orders have not been met.

According to the ruling by Judge Chacha Mwita stated that Miguna deportation was unlawful and in violation of the Constitution.

The judge further declared the decision to send Miguna away null and a process should have been followed out in line with the Fair Administrative Act.
