An Indonesian hacker group codenamed “Kurd electronic team” from the hacktivist group “W4r10k _Team” have managed to gain unauthorized access to numerous government official websites subdomains and leaving them defaced.

The intruders left a series of incomprehensible text on the site, and disabled or broke its functionality. The website, which is currently undergoing maintenance, has a large logo plastered on it by a team calling itself Kurd Electronic Team. It has also been reported that the site didn’t have any SSL certificate prior to the back.

Other websites affected included those of the National Environment Trust Fund, the Department of Planning and the National Development Implementation Technical Committee.Image result for kurdish hackers

Also hacked are the websites for the National Youth Service, Department of Petroleum, Refugees Affairs Secretariat at Immigration, the Kenya Meat Commission and the Lake Basin Development Authority.

Some of the websites have already been placed under maintenance after recovery

It’s unclear 100% why the hackers had set the websites and servers a target to be hacked and defaced.

We can’t exactly tell yet on how hackers managed to gain access to the servers and websites. There could have been a vulnerability on the websites or could have been due to admins using silly passwords.
