Few weeks after winning Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling, 2019, Citizen TV Special Features reporter Dorcas Wangira has announced that she is leaving Citizen TV for greener pastures.
Taking it to her twitter the award-winning journalist said she has been poached by London based media house The Economist.
She wrote;
5 years ago, I was an intern for the first time at the Standard Group. At first, it scared and challenged me. But now I am delighted to relive that experience at The Economist in London as the African proverb says “to be reminded even if I already know

Dorcas joined the Royal Media Services late last year during the mass exodus of top journalists and was among the many who joined Citizen TV.
Indeed good works pay. At times we don’t know how but it surely does.
Her winning report, “The App and The Cut,” was aired on KTN News in June 2018. In the 25 minutes feature, Wangira traveled to different communities where girls are forced to undergo the illegal procedure.
