The war on corruption seem to be taking a different twist day in day out as Top leaders keep giving different opinions on the same.

The Ruling Jubilee Party under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta has been advocating for the fight against corruption while at the same time, a few elements within the Party led by DP William Ruto have been criticizing the manner with which the war against corruption has been carried out.

Many of them have argued that the recent wars on corruption are being used to settle political scores with many Politicians allied to Ruto claiming that their association with the Country’s Second in Command has made them a target in the fight against graft.

Difference in opinions between Ruto and Uhuru in Anti-Graft war was also manifested today during the National Prayer Breakfast Meeting at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

A move by Deputy President William Ruto to hit at Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in front of President Uhuru forced the head of state to cut short his speech.

Uhuru has been on forefront in fighting corruption and has always defended EACC and DCI in the war.

Ruto move to disrespect the two institutions for challenging clergy not to receive bribes did not go down well with Uhuru.

Further, Ruto claim some of them came from poor background hence value the church compared to Uhuru who was born in riches, annoyed the President.

“I have a confession to make. When you see some of us go to church &pray, lift up our hands, sometimes shed tears, make this or that contribution, it is because we cannot forget where God has brought us from. I beg you to understand” Said Ruto.

It is said that Ruto’s sentiments forced Uhuru to make his speech in less than three minutes.

President Kenyatta was accompanied to the meeting by H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit of the Republic of South Sudan.
