The event follows another one that happened at the same venue that brought together leaders from different political affiliates. ODM leader Raila Odinga, President Kenyatta and his deputy Dr William Ruto reconciled at the event following the disputed 2017 general elections.
However, Kenyans have read malice in the event.
Most Kenyans are now accusing the government for holding the event in private hotels if it really means good for Kenyans.
I dont understand why National Prayer Day is done in private hotels it should be done in public places like Uhuru park or the stadiums whereby every mwananchi that is interested can attend mbona wakitaka kutudanganya wanaitananga uhuru park nkt

Some are saying that the event is a scam since public money is normally set aside for a few individuals to eat.
National prayer Day is a Scam ,money is being set aside for few to eat. Nothing comes up from these prayers. Watu wanatukanana ina maana gani. @khalidjoho @kiramjoho

Some say that it is of no use for a country like Kenya to set up a National prayer day annually only for them to live like Soddom and Gomora.
Its written the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge and Faith without action is death,it will be of no use for us to set a National prayer day and still live like sodom and Gomora,we gotta turn our ways!#nationalprayerbreakfast
