Undoubted! Exact Reason Why Neymar Was Stripped Off Captaincy Role

Asamoah Gyan-Andre Ayew saga hits Brazil! Did you hear of this catastrophe?

To me, it seems that a great revolution is boiling up in the world of football. It started in Ghana where Asamoah Gyan who had captained the team for a period of seven years was stripped of the captaincy role and given to Andre Ayew.

This caused jitters to Gyan who even shortly retired from the national team before Ghana’s President Nana Akufo Addo intervened to bring calm in the team. Coach Kwesi’s decision almost caused a clash in the team and this would have greatly affected the Black Stars performance in Africa’s elite competition.

But Brazil seems not to have learned from Ghana’s mistake and have stripped off Neymar Junior from the captaincy role and replaced him with Dani Alves ahead of Next month’s Copa America tournament.

Neymar served in this position for only eight months and perhaps fans could be asking why so sudden!

Neymar was one of the best football players the world ever knew during his early days of his career. He was quite sensational with unbelievable dribbling skills. Above all, he was respectable. His inclusion in the national team was a plus and everyone would agree.

Most recently, the Brazilian international tainted his reputation when he was spotted punching a fan after PSG defeat to Rennes.

For that reason, Neymar was handed a three-match ban, a ban many wanted to be extended to his national team.

But when speaking to the press, Brazil National coach Tite admitted that Neymar ‘made a mistake’ when he clashed with a fan in Paris but that did not deter him from being included in the Copa America squad.

His three-game ban, however, did not extend to his appearance in the Copa America.

Also, he was reportedly involved in a dressing room incident with his PSG team-mates.

But since then, pressure has been mounting on the coach Tite for giving him the chance to play for the national team despite his disciplinary issues.

This could, therefore, be the main reason why the 27-year-old was stripped off the role.

Alves, 36, will also lead the side in friendlies against Qatar and Honduras.

He has captained Brazil four times, most recently in a 1-0 win over Germany in March 2018.

The Copa America takes place in Brazil from 14 June to 7 July, with the hosts taking on Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru in Group A.
