Pastors bid to buy Uchumi’s Sh2.8 billion land in Kasarani

Yesterday, an evangelist from Roysambu and a close ally to Uhuru Edward Mwai of Jesus Winner Ministries sent a message to Uhuru pleading with him to facilitate the release of cargo belonging to the ‘Business Community’.

Following the announcement from Presient Uhuru to clear the Inland Clearance Deport ICD, KRA and traders are now working helter-skelter to beat the three week deadline.

President Uhuru made impromptu visit to Embakasi Inland Depot accompanied by Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, May 27, 2019.

This morning at 6.00am, the president made an impromptu visit to the inland port at Embakasi where he issued the order.

The move came after a culmination of cries from Luthuli, Kamukunji and Gikomba traders who have been decrying of being neglected by the president.

The traders who during the 2017 election campaign went under ‘business community’ voted immensely for the president under propaganda ‘thuraku thuraku’.

Following the move by the president, it leaves no doubt that Uhuru is a close proxy of Edward Mwai.

Edward Mai came to limelight when he prophesied that Uhuru’s case at ICC would collapse. The case later collapsed.

Mwai has also housed Uhuru several times in his Roysambu church that is just adjacent to Thika Road Mall

The pastor is not just those street pastors with worn out shoes. Last year, he acquired a Sh2.5 billion property from Uchumi.

The Uchumi property in Kasarani was acquired by Jewel Complex whose major shareholder is Edward Mwai.

Mwai was last year reported by a local daily to co own the Jewel Complex with Paul Gichohi Mutune with 9.09% ownership while Agnes Wanjiku Kiongo, Raphael Mwiti Thiaru and James Kiongo Mwai all hold 18.18% shares each. Mwai’s share was 36.36% stake by then.
