PSG shows interest in England and volatile Liverpool midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain has discussed a potential move for volatile and all round Liverpool midfielder James Milner this summer, according to media reports in France.

The Thomas Tuchel’s side who retained the Ligue 1 title this season but suffered another disappointing campaign in the Champions League as they were dumped out at the last-16 stage by Manchester United.

Although they won the Ligue 1 title, it did not come easily and cheaply they lost and drew most of their last season’s campaign matches which saw them delay in capturing the title despite having world-class players.

The French champions are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and are hoping to complete a deal with Napoli to sign Allan.

They are also expected to announce the signing of Ander Herrera on a free transfer this summer after the Spaniard failed to agree on a new contract with struggling Manchester United who is working on an overhaul of the club as well as cutting down the expenses.

But according to Le Parisien, PSG is open to signing a third central midfielder and have spoken internally about signing Milner from Liverpool who has been a critical part of the side seeing them through to the finals of the Champions League.

Milner’s current contract with Liverpool is due to expire next year and the midfielder has not yet agreed on an extension with the club.

The 33-year-old has played a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield this term, while he has also provided solid cover on both the left and right side of the defence.

The report also claims that PSG is willing to sell Julian Draxler, Thomas Meunier, Christopher Nkunku, Stanley Nsoki and Eric Choupo-Moting in an attempt to create room for new players and a youthful generation.

But that will be up to the English star and manager Jurgen Klopp to decide the way forward which is most likely going to be after the finals of the Champions League against Tottenham, although it might be a hard decision to go by considering the competition there is in England and the time it has taken to make the current squad at the Reds.
