For the better part of the weekend, Social Media was awash with Photos of a man said to have impersonated Interior CS Fred Matiang’i in the Fake Gold Scam.
The man only identified as Ogendo alias Biggie was said to be the Fake Fred Matiang’i that is now under the police radar.
Ogendo is believed to be the same as Mukiri, a man who with ease passed off as Matiang’i, acting the role of the authoritative man who would see to it that the gold was finally delivered to Zandi, a Dubai based Gold trader at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
It is believed that he covinced Zandi that he was able to help him get his Gold without eliciting suspicions from Authorities.
So elaborately orchestrated was Mukiri’s act that at one point he inspected a guard of honour to convince the Dubai businessman that he was indeed the Interior CS.
Well, Ogendo has finally revealed himself to the public by presenting himself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters.

According to Ogendo, he has nothing to do with the Fake Gold Scam and that he never thought his name would ever be mentioned in such a scam.
He has said that he is reading malice and Politics in everything that is currently coming his way.
Asked what he does for a Living, Ogendo was quick to state that he has worked as a Civil Servant for over 25 years. He has worked with the Kenya Revenue Authority and The Ministry of Finance until he took an early retirement in 2017 after which he ventured into politics.
Ogendo’s latest revelations has cast a dark cloud on the search for the alleged Fake Matiang’i, a man at the center of the Fake Gold scam even as the whole thing continues to take a Political Twist.
There were earlier claims on Social Media that Ogendo has links to Raila Odinga with a number of pictures of him with Raila and his brother Oburu Odinga doing rounds the Social Media circles.
DP William Ruto has already asked Opposition Chief Raila Odinga to carry his own cross and that he should stop dragging President Uhuru Kenyatta in the whole mess.
A number of MPs from the Jubilee Party have also claimed that Mr. Odinga is not telling the truth on what he knows with regards to the whole Fake Gold Scam and as such, Kenyans should not trust him.
