Kirinyanga Governor Anne Waiguru said she has received offers from two parties to be the DP come 2022. The first time governor says she is considering the offers and will make an announcement at an appropriate time.

Deputy President William Ruto is currently seen as the front runner in Jubilee and the likely candidate for the party.

Waiguru’s announcement elicited mixed reactions online with some Kenyans endorsing her, with others dismissing her ambitions.

Aisha Jumwa is thinking of contesting for Kilifi Governorship come 2022. She also remixed a Christian song to praise DP Ruto.  This elicited a lot of reactions online a number of Christians accusing her of blasphemy.

City Lawyer Donald Kipkorir went on to claim that the MP is a sorcerer while a Kayole Bishop penned to Ruto asking him to ask his followers to stop worshipping him like God.

Wiper Leader Johnstone Muthama demanded that Deputy President Ruto must retire alongside President Uhuru Kenyata in 2022.

Muthama says that Kenyan presidency does not belong to only two tribes claiming that he has sought enough legal consultation as he moves to the constitutional court to compel DP Ruto to hang up his political boots upon expiry of their second term in office.

Raila Odinga has claimed that he is the one who blew the whistle on the Dubai gold scam. He has seen about 4 heads of states from Africa this week in his capacity as AU infrastructure representative, and also went to Dubai in his capacity as Uhuru Kenyatta’s brother to sort the gold scam issue.

Also, he broke the silence on his 2022  political ambition saying that his only mission was to unite the country and help President Uhuru Kenyatta realize the Big Four agenda legacy.

“I am not interested with 2022 politics my aim is to unite Kenyans, fight corruption and help Uhuru achieve the Big Four Agenda, that is all,” said the former premier.

DP William Ruto said he will quit politics in 2022 if he doesn’t get the Jubilee ticket. This was after Isaac Ruto said that Mt. Kenya region will abandon Ruto, the real Ruto, before the 2022 polls.

In a live simulcast on Kameme, the DP weighed in on the prospect of his running mate being a woman.

He said that any woman who wishes to be bestowed with the honour of being his running mate will have to demonstrate her ability and to slug it out with men.

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was arrested by EACC officers in connection with fraud in Kiambu County. His daughter, a Strathmore University student was arrested too, she had Sh 100 million in her account, deposited in the last 8 months or so. They have both been released.

The embattled Kiambu Governor maintained that he was in Tanga Tanga to stay, and lashed out at members of the so-called ‘Kieleweke’, claiming that they were using the war on corruption for political purposes

 

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and major suspect in the fake gold scandal accompanied by nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura went to Hong Kong China to represent Kenya in the  International Anti-corruption conference.

This sounded like a joke to netizens who claimed that the pair is not the right representative to for Kenya in an anti-corruption conference.

Kenyan motorists will have to acquire new high-tech digital number plates by January 2020 as the government replaces the old ones. Each plate will be sold for Sh 3,000.

The push for the smart plates comes in the wake of increased duplication of the current ones by tax- evasion cartels and criminals.

A legislator has initiated the process of scrapping the law that has seen hundreds of thousands of borrowers listed for defaulting on small loans with the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

Belgut Member of Parliament Nelson Koech says it is unfair for lenders to treat defaulters of billions of shillings the same way as those who have borrowed Sh100 from mobile loan providers such as CBA’s Mshwari and Tala.

And finally, the government launched Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company, a key institution geared at making affordable housing a success.

Its role will be to source loans from big investors and multilateral lenders and act as a pool from which mortgage lenders in the country can draw from at affordable rates
