DCI Kinoti Gets Massive Support from often Abrasive #KOT (Photos)

Hate him or love him, the Director of Criminal Investigations, DCI George Kinoti has once again sparked an online conversation as he was hailed for the numerous arrests and drug busts that has been witnessed since he took over from a more arm-chair boss Ndegwa Muhoro.

Muhoro who held the post for seven years straight had barely visible action on corruption and drugs.

During his appointment to the feared position, senior female police officers who were poised to take over from Muhoro developed cold feet along the way.

According to former Police Service Commission Chairperson Johnston Kavuludi, the position was quite competitive.

“One needs to be a serving police officer. We have got serving female police officers, this is not just an appointive position, it is competitive… so far, unfortunately, no female candidate who is qualified signified interest in the position by submitting an application to the commission,” Kavuludi divulged to members of the Press in August 2018.

Kinoti impressed the vetting panel with his mastery of the police protocol both in the ranks and on the ground.

The enduring director has over the years developed a stress-inoculated resilience during the risky police operations he carried out throughout the country.

At one point, the no-nonsense sleuth narrated how he survived 28 bullets pumped in his body after a nasty ambush by thugs who thought he was getting into their nerves.

“My intestines were on the tarmac. Those who picked me up declared me dead. On arrival at the hospital, the nurses placed a tag on me saying ‘dead’,” he told a local Newspaper.
