Stunning images of new Red Hill Road

The construction of the missing link between Westlands and Gigiri is now open for public and it looks stunning.

The 5 kilometres dual road funded by the Government at a cost of Kshs.3 billion was estimated to be complete by September 2018.

The road is set to give Residents an easy and stress-free time navigating between Waiyaki Way in Westlands, Gigiri and Ruaka once complete.

To reduce pedestrian-motorist traffic conflict and accident cases along this road, non-motorized transport (NMT) has been factored too as there will be footpaths.

Street lights, bus bays, road furniture and markings have been incorporated to facilitate free flow of traffic and safety on the road.

The road is expected to reduce travel time and distance.

It will create an easy access from Waiyaki Way to Redhill and motorists will not be subjected to pass through Westlands, which has high volume of interrupted traffic.

Accessibility to Redhill and its environs will also be enhanced opening up to business opportunities in an area that for a long time has been characterized by scarce population and activities.

This project is also aimed at decongesting roads in Nairobi city that have been experiencing endless traffic jam.

Traffic will be distributed across the network, with improved traffic flows, and the local community will benefit from reduced traffic volumes.

This is expected to reflect on the economy as operating costs for the transport industry, business and commuters is expected to reduce.
