Police Bust Extensive Textbook Theft Cartels

Two men are cooling off their feet at a Police station after they were arrested with school property.

The duo is said to be part of a larger racket of individuals involved in the murky stolen textbooks business.

One of the men implicated in the textbook theft is said to have illegally acquired the textbooks from a school before supplying them to his accomplice who was found selling them in Kisii town.

Police officers, acting on a tip-off from a teacher at one of the schools, posed as customers and busted one of the suspects selling the books.

The two suspects were found in possession of textbooks bearing rubber stamps of Kisii Primary and other public institutions.

The textbooks were distributed by the government free of charge to Kisii Primary School. At the time of the arrests, the textbooks had rubber stamps of the school.

The two are held at Kisii Central Police Station where police continue to interrogate them before they are arraigned in court.
