Police in Kisii are holding three men after a child was beaten to death over a lost phone.
Drama started when the parents of the deceased boy called him out on alleged theft of his grandfather’s phone.
The irate parents would later descend on the hapless boy beating him senseless before he passed out.
Three of the 11-year-old’s relatives are suspected to be behind the heinous act.
Confirming the incident, Kisii Police County Commander Martin Kibet said: ”We have arrested two suspects and are still hunting for the third suspect who is still at large.”
Police reports indicate that the poor boy’s grandfather Mr Charles Getugi, his father Mr George Getugi and a man identified as Jared Getugi are responsible for the death.
The standard five boy’s body was moved to Kisii County Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem. However, the body had visible injury marks on the face and on the limbs.
