After heating up the fake gold scam, Wetangula now leaves the country

After starting a fire, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has now jetted off to China, leaving the country in a brawl over the fake gold scandal.

The senator became the whistle blower dragging the names of big shots,  President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Leader Raila Odinga into the probe through a viral audio.

In the audio conversation, Wetang’ula dropped the names of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga to assure a Dubai gold investor believed to be Ali Zandi that their detained consignment would be released.

While he has remained mum after the audio, he has now resurfaced, but on a mission to attend an international anti-corruption meeting in Hong Kong, China.

His colleague nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura on Tuesday shared photos showing them on excursion ahead of the conference.

“We paid a courtesy call at the Faculty of Law of University of Hong Kong where Prof Yash Pal Ghai taught for 10 years,” Mr Mwaura posted on his Facebook.

Kenyans online have on the other hand critiqued Wetangula’s expedition to the Chinese anti-corruption conference as ironic.
