Shebesh Challenges Ruto to Explain Why He is So Afraid of the Handshake

Youth Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rachel Shebesh attacked Deputy President William Ruto again.

Shebesh now wants the DP to explain why he is so afraid of the 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition boss Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Monday, Shebesh challenged the DP to outline the real reasons why he remains uncomfortable with the truce, which she said has been beneficial to Kenyans.

The handshake enjoys the backing of all major politicians in the country, including ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula.

“We have seen other leaders like Mudavadi and Kalonzo coming on board, so he should tell us why he is this afraid of the handshake,” said the former Nairobi woman representative.

The DP was initially undecided on the issue, supporting and opposing it in equal measures, but has over the past few months declared war on it, terming it a plot by Raila to shake and possibly crush the Jubilee Party.

Shebesh was a close friend to the DP until hell broke loose where she has been launching a number of attacks against him.

Shebesh, who was speaking during an interview on Radio Nam Lolwe, now wants to know why the DP has even chosen to defy his boss to prove his point, noting that the DP has been poking holes into the initiative from all corners.

“Raila brought his people into the handshake and they responded positively. Why has Ruto refused to honour the president who has attempted to bring him on board?” she asked.
