Diversity appreciation as World beards competition is paraded (photos)

Diversity is what makes the world unique and so are the beliefs and cultures around the globe where people celebrate differently diverse things be it clothing food, and the likes in the name of making sure it does not get eroded.

The 29th edition of the World Beard and Moustache Championships took place over the weekend in Belgium where men showcased their well kept and designed facial hairs.

Hosted this year by the Antwerp Moustache Club, the biennial competition recognises the most impressive and well-groomed facial hair from around the globe.

Entrants are divided into 17 categories including, Dali Moustache, Fu Manchu and Freestyle Goatee; each of which is subject to strict requirements which have to be attained to qualify to compete.

Founded in 1990 by a beard club in a small village in Germany’s the Black Forest, the sport is known as international bearding has grown to include beard clubs from all over the world.

Previous championships have been hosted in Texas, Berlin, Alaska and various other locations worldwide just as it will be next year.
