Police on Friday sought to detain ‘conman’ Jared Otieno for 14 days to complete investigations.
Otieno, who is accused of receiving Sh300 million fraudulently in a fake gold transaction, was arraigned at Milimani law courts.
He was arrested on Wednesday night over claims he swindled foreigners in a gold export business deal.
He was however detained for seven more days at Kileleshwa police station in gold scam probe.

But will he really spend all this days at the police cells? Well, controversial blogger Robert Alai argues that Jared will not spend any single day at the police cells in Kileleshwa.
According to Alai, Kileleshwa police station is near to Jared Otieno’s main operation centres.
The blogger further cites that Jared will not be spending the night at the police station but in one of his homes within Kileleshwa.

On Wednesday, a contingent of heavily armed policemen from the DCI raided Otieno’s home in Karen and towed away luxurious cars and carted away documents in boxes and computers.
It is not the first time Otieno has been linked to a fake gold scam.
On June 20, 2017, police arrested the businessman over claims he swindled foreigners in a gold export deal.
The flashy businessman had been arrested for obtaining money by pretending to be in a position to export gold from Kenya to foreign countries.
