Suspicion as Police Arrest Two Egyptians Selling Dishes

A cloud of suspicion hung in Migori after two Egyptians selling cutlery were arrested in the county.

The Egyptians who had intimated that they had come to visit a relative in Kenya were found to have lied.

Following a tip-off from members of the public, the two foreigners were arrested after it was found they were selling dishes to the locals.

The two who have since been identified as Mr Mohamed and Mohammed Abdelwakil were arrested alongside a local resident, Mr William Otieno, who is believed to have been housing them.

Migori County Police Boss Mr Joseph Nthenge told reporters that the two foreigners had appeared in Court Thursday to answer to charges of doing business in the country without a permit.

Mr. Nthenge also added that several household items were also seized from the rental house in Awendo where the three were arrested. The seized items include 12 cartons, 84 pieces of cutlery, 12 pieces of saucer plates among other items.
