DCI officers have arrested a man accused of defiling a 16-Year-Old Form 2 student in a school within Nairobi.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspect who was nabbed on Tuesday evening around Kilimani area and has been positively identified by the victim and allegedly committed the offence last year in June.

The unnamed man said to be among a crew which visited the girls’ school to act plays based on literature books.

Through its Twitter account, the DCI stated that “initial investigations revealed that the suspect was among a team of actors that had previously visited the school to perform plays.”

According to police statements, the suspect has been on the run since he committed the crime on the 2nd of June.

Detectives handling the case are carrying out further enquiries including a DNA analysis to scientifically link the suspect to the offence.

Elsewhere, Police in Homa Bay county on Wednesday rescued a from 2 students who had been locked in a house and raped for one week.

The investigations were launched immediately and police managed to arrest two suspects who are believed to be brothers in connection with the heinous act.

According to reports, the two had locked the girl in their rented house and the consecutively raped her for one week.

The two suspects identified as  Tyson Onyango and Kevin Ouma, 20 and 25 years respectively are reported to have intercepted the teen on her way from school, lured her into their house which later became her cell for one week.
