With 16 goals to his name so far in the Kenyan Premier League, Ulinzi Stars forward Enosh Ochieng was rewarded with a call up to Sebastian Migne’s Harambee Stars squad for the CHAN Championships.

It is the first time the winger has been called to the national team, after his impressive performances for the soldiers.

Enosh was named in the 30 – man provisional squad for the 2020 CHAN qualifiers which come right after the 2019 African Cup of Nations finals in Egypt in June.

“It is a good learning chance for me and reflects positively on the season I have had. I try to learn something new every day and now I have a big chance. I say I am ready for this challenge and I approach it positively and with an open mind,” he said as quoted by the club’s website.

Enosh has been deployed as a winger for the better part of this season and taken his chances well. He is currently the club’s top scorer with 16 Premier League goals, two behind Kakamega Homeboyz’s Allan Wanga.

He further noted that the call-up gives him the motivation to even do better with the club in the remaining few matches.

“I can’t forget that. The motivation that comes from the call up is what I want to transfer to help the team finish strongly in the remaining matches,” he added.

Ulinzi’s results have dwindled in the last couple of matches, and have lost two on the bounce to remain eighth on the standings.
