City Lawyer Miguna Miguna has clashed with Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli over the importance of referendum.

According to Miguna  the constitution is not part of the problems facing this nation. He reminded Atwoli that President Uhuru Kenyatta is to blame for the problems that continue to befall this nation over time.

The Self Proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader opines that President Kenyatta, who is completing his second and final term in government, has proven that he cannot deliver on his promises.

“Remind Atwoli that the there is nothing wrong with the Constitution. The problem is Uhuru Kenyatta and cabals who are subverting it. We need the Constitution implemented and strictly enforced. Referendum will not stop electoral theft, tribalism, injustice and poverty. #sidebar,” Miguna tweeted

Atwoli had earlier said that a referendum was going to take place before the next general elections. He noted that leaders opposed to the constitutional changes should brace for the same before it is too late. He further said that it is only through the change in the constitution of this country that will realize development and good governance.

“The referendum is not in doubt. It will be there and will happen before the election,” he said during an interview on NTV.
