Patrick Vieira is under consideration to become West Bromwich Albion’s new manager.

The former Arsenal captain, who won multiple Premier League titles as a player, has been cutting his managerial teeth in his native France with Nice after a successful first stint in the dugout at New York City.

The Telegraph reports Albion will consider making an approach for Vieira depending on the outcome of planned talks with former Brighton manager Chris Hughton next week.

Hughton was sacked by Brighton on Monday despite guiding the Seagulls to safety in the Premier League and the FA Cup semi-final.

What’s happening at West Brom?
The 60-year-old, who has already enjoyed a spell in management in these parts with Birmingham City, isn’t expected to be out of work for long and the Baggies are keen to make him their manager.

Hughton has two previous promotions from the Championship with Newcastle United and Brighton which makes him an attractive proposition to the West Brom board.

Former Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is also still on Albion’s radar with the club hoping to name a new manager in the coming weeks.

Albion came up just short in their play-off semi-final against local rivals Aston Villa and a summer rebuild is needed with several star names poised to move on.
