Mesut Ozil ends the speculations surrounding his future at Arsenal

German playmaker who unexpectedly announced his retirement from national football duties has been the centre of attention about his future at his London based club, Arsenal since the exit of the former manager Arsene Wenger.

There have been speculations and questions as to why the manager Unai Emery was not playing the attacking midfielder which had seen him on the bench for some time only after which he started to have him in but not for the full 90 minutes as it was in the time of Wenger.

The German playmaker is a big earner in Unai Emery’s squad and has been heavily linked with a summer exit to give him money to spend elsewhere.

But Ozil has insisted he has no intention of leaving the Emirates after six years in north London – and he reckons there is no chance of him leaving in the summer.

With two years left on his contract, Ozil expects to be at Arsenal until at least 2021 before his situation is reevaluated.

“I don’t think there’s a chance of that, to be honest,” Ozil told the media.

“I’ve got two more years here and what happens afterwards is not in my hands. We’ll see then, but I’m proud to be at this club and really happy at this club.”

Ozil has found himself in and out of Emery’s starting line-up this season and also dealt with some niggling injuries. He has now opened up on how he responds to being dropped from the side has vowed to prove himself with his ability.

“If the coach speaks to me and tells me I won’t play in a game it’s something I need to accept and just get on with it,” he revealed.

“I’ve carried on working on making myself as fit and healthy as I could and it’s worked out for me.“Now I’m playing, but of course, it’s the coach’s decision if I play or not.

“I’ve had some injuries this season and I’ve had to miss some games. But I know when I’m fit I’ll play matches.“I know the quality I have. I think everyone has their qualities and mine are at No.10.

“If the coach wants me to do something and play somewhere else, you have to accept it and do that. That’s something I’ve done and as a player and you just need to get on with what you’re told.”
