The now widely popular gender swap filter adds traditionally female features, and there’s one that adds traditionally male features. People are really up to no good with this new Snapchat filter and the people cannot get enough.

In one case, a man in the UK used the gender swap Snapchat filter for his Tinder profile and got hundreds of matches. Jake Askew, from Norwich, said he decided to set up the account because he thought he looked ‘unreal’ with the filter. More than 1,650 ‘liked’ his profile and he received between 300-400 matches. ‘Jess’ who is actually Jake, who is a student at the University of Derby also revealed that lots of men got in touch to make some rather indecent proposals, reported Ladbible.

You’d think Snapchat filters would be the epitome of harmless fun, but it turns out they can backfire quite badly.
In another case, a woman named Sasha found this out the hard way after pranking her girlfriend Leona. The 21-year-old used a filter to make her look like a different girl and sent the picture to her with the caption: “In your girlfriend’s bed.” The couple has been together almost a year and Sasha was sure Leona would see it as the joke it was, however, she did not respond as light-heartedly as Sasha had hoped and almost ended up breaking up.

But Sasha and Leona aren’t the only couples to fall foul of a Snapchat filter-based misunderstanding. Posting on Facebook, Ryan Hill described how he used a filter that ‘makes you look like a girl’ on a photo of himself, and sent it to his poor unsuspecting girlfriend, along with the caption ‘I have your bf’s t-shirt on’ which then led to a heated argument, reported Metro UK.
